Wrestlers, continue to review all messages given for the High School Squad.  There is
always valuable information to prepare you for the rigours of wrestling at the higher level.
Maintaining your weight properly should be a subject that you and your parents work on
together.  Proper nutrition and fluid intake are most important.  PIAA has changed their
rules for "weight certification".  The new rules are to make the sport safer but will cause a
need for a  much more disciplined approach to your conditioning style.  Please check with
your coach to obtain information on this subject.
General rules:
Get plenty of sleep, reduce your intake of sugary beverages, eat whole grain products,
drink plenty of water (no calories), a good balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates,
fruits and vegetables. This is what every wrestler, who is serious about this sport, should
know and practice.  Start your conditioning now!!!!!  Start with a fall sport to help you get in
shape for wrestling season.
